Welcome to the National Fox Terrier Meet
NFTM is an annual event organised by me - Tina Bailey. The National Fox Terrier Meet brings together social media-based Fox Terrier Lovers & families passionate about the Smooth and Wire Fox Terrier breed. The Event offers a great opportunity to meet up in person whilst enjoying a great day out. We also have a loyal following and extend a warm welcome to Airedale, Lakeland, Welsh Terriers and many other wet noses and wagging tails. Fundraising is a big part of the NFTM and after deductions, all money raised benefits Fox Terrier Rescue UK. This rescue is dedicated to help both Smooth and Wire Fox Terriers in need.
The 9th NFTM on Sat 27.06.26 will be held at Kenslow Farm Campsite, Middleton-by-Youlgrave, nr Bakewell, DE45 1LY. This venue has received much positive feedback with people enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. We will continue to add hand picked stalls who are right and useful for our audience, something we were prohibited to do at Chatsworth but can fully enjoy at this site.
Kenslow Farm Campsite is nestled within the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The site itself is suited for caravans, motorhomes and tents and in addition there is plentiful dog friendly accommodation in the surrounding area. Plus, nearby attractions like Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall or Chatsworth make this a tempting place for people to plan a holiday around the event.
The Meets hopefully also raise awareness of the Fox Terrier breeds, especially the Smooth Fox Terrier, which is classified as a vulnerable native breed in the UK. Sadly, the Wire Fox Terrier is now on the Kennel Club at risk list.

An insight into our wonderful NFTM Volunteer Team.
The original five - Phillipa Coleman, co-host of the 1st NFTM, Billy Brown, Carol Canty, Holly Anderson, and I, are now a group of around 20 including my brilliant husband Rob. Jane Mason oversees First Aid. Fiona Wilson takes care of Canine First Aid. In addition, Fiona compiles a wonderful display of FTR UK dog stories from starting out in rescue to their happy ever after life with their new families. Julie Liston is our Site Manager with our lovely Colin Furness (Deputy Site Manager) by her side. Julie is also very happy to give advice on general care and well-being of your fox terrier especially coat care. The team offer everything from photography, check in, car parking to litter picking. Without the volunteers the day simply would not and could not happen. A big thank you to all of them always.
The 9th NFTM Sat 27.06.26
Please note that online registration will open on the 1st of January 2026.
Please arrive from 10am onwards and make your way to registration/check in, which will open at 10.30am. The grass will be cut approx. 2 weeks prior to our meet, so will be comfortable underfoot. The location is suitable for prams and mobility scooters. Please note that we are no longer able to organise a formal walk. However, a complete circuit of the field parameter will take approx. 30 minutes. We look forward to walking this together and everyone is welcome to join in.
We will bring back our very popular “have a go agility”, the “have a go scent work” and if possible the “have a go terrier racing ”. You will agree that all dogs will find plenty to do. You can bring a picnic or enjoy our food stall provisions. Close to the human and canine first aid posts you will find a village like atmosphere of stalls. Here you will be able to meet Lee England of FTR UK, visit the Fox Terrier Rescue UK Dog Story Display, Raffle, Cup Cake Stall, our very popular Handicraft Stall and much much more.
